* 1 ½ teaspoons of vinegar

* ¾ of a cup of egg white

* ice cream or jam

PREPARATION

Merengues is a simply traditional Cuban dessert you’re likely to find at any Cuban dining table. The preparation and ingredients for this traditional Cuban dessert are straightforward and simple. You start your preparation by beating ¾ of a cup of egg whites, gradually adding one cup of sugar, until the egg whites solidify. Then, alternatively add 1½ teaspoons of vinegar and the remaining cup of sugar. Once you have completed this, take tablespoons of the mixture and place them on a baking sheet that has been properly lined with lightly greased paper. Bake for 40 minutes at 275 degrees Fahrenheit. Let the dessert stand to cool and serve with either ice cream or jam.
