Pork Abodo

Posted Saturday, September 18, 2004

INGREDIENTS (should serve 4-6)

*11/2lb of pork shoulder (this you need to cut into cubes)

* 3 cloves of garlic (which you should mince)

* 2 tablespoons each of soy sauce and cooking oil

* 1 bay leaf

* 1 tablespoon of sugar and salt

* 1/2 a cup of water

* 1/4 tablespoon of pepper

PREPARATION

To prepare Cuban Abodo, simple put all of your ingredients into a pot and let them stand for half an hour. You then simmer them in the pot covered for an hour, or until such time as the meat is tender. After this you drain off the pot and reserve the drained off sauce. You then place the meat on a skillet and brown and transfer the meat to the serving dish. Add the oil from the skillet to the sauce you earlier reserved and cook for a minute or so. Pour the sauce over the meat and serve to your guest. Very straightforward!
