WHERE TO EAT AND PARTY
Eating in Santiago de Cuba is a fun experience. The local food is delightful and full of flavor. And, as with many places in Cuba, most of the more popular restaurants in Santiago de Cuba are situated in old colonial buildings – many of which have been renovated as restaurants. The food here also usually consists of both Cuban and international cuisine. Some places to keep an eye out for include:

· Santiago 1900 – probably Santiago’s most famous restaurant and culinary school

Partying in Santiago de Cuba is no problem. Like elsewhere in Cuba, this town lives for the night and, consequently, has some of the most interesting places in Cuba in which to party the night away. Among these include:
· Tropicana Santiago – a cabaret club based on the same principles as her sister club in Havana;
· San Pedro del Mr – a traditional Santiago nightclub with cabarets and shows;
· Cafe Cantante – a fun filled club that lives on the rapport between audience and performer;
· Bar Virgilio – a club where the younger generation of Santiago party;
· Cabaret La Maisson – the more sedate and romantic of you need to head off here for an evening of dimmed lights and great ambiance;
· Discoteca Espantasuenos – a discotheque located in the Hotel Santiago.
